Guidelines
From 2020worldpeace
Here are five guidelines which might assist your editing of this wiki.
- 1 Thought Experiment
- Think of this whole wiki as a thought experiment. Consider everything in terms of the objective, to create the opportunity for world peace by 2020. If an idea does not conform to this parameter, however attractive it may be, then discard it. It can not be used to influence the addition of any concept nor used in the evaluation of contributions. Essentially: if 2020 is a hypothetical goal, how could you help bring it about?
- 2 Respect
- The nature of the topic is vast. Not only does it boil the brain to consider a self-organising system which involves over six billion conscious human beings, it also expands across the range of mass social dynamics and delves into a person's sense of power or belief system. The only way this range of topics can be managed, is with respect to other contributors. If you do not understand the concept nexus which deals with belief, then wait for a time in your life where you may understand it; avoid contributing negatively to something you merely don't understand. That is, respect the views of others. Any real possibility of world peace must be built on this basis.
- 3 Question in Discussion
- This wiki allows for contributors to edit pages directly. However, before doing so, open up a discussion by clicking on 'discussion'. By querying an element in the content, open up a discussion, and if consensus seems to occur, then go ahead and edit the page. Very often, the formation of the question is the most important part of an exploration of one's concepts.
- 4 Edit
- There are several reasons why the wiki works. It can easily be abused, however because of the goodwill and the investment of contributors not only with original thoughts and material but because of the simple cleaning up that is part of editing. Hence, the more people involved, the higher the chance that rogue or destructive elements can be contained or minimised. Take an interest in particular pages or topics and ensure that changes to it are ecological, consistent with 2020 and your own sensibilities.
- 5 Positive Construction
- Unlike the science of objects, where it is encouraged to be critical and to disprove hypotheses, 2020worldpeace is a constructive and positive engagement. In this way, we should be able to create a space which encourages people's contributions, and when differences occur, there is a means of confronting this and resolving it to the mutual satisfaction of all parties. Check Subjective Science for an outline of a rigourous, accurate and testable way of exploring our subjective perspectives.
