Virtual Nowhere is ideally a system which bypasses the entire political system. It enables us to make connections with one another in a trusted network of friends. So, to help this come into being, until it becomes now-here, there are at least three stages:

1. Establish someone who has the the wherewithall to conduct steps 2 and 3: trustworthy, competent, and can commit themselves to the project for at least a few month, possibly a year. We'll call this individual the Gatekeeper, which sounds suitably dramatic.

2. Send some money to this individual. The more people send money, the more is collected. The Gatekeeper keeps people informed as to how much is accumulating.

3. Once enough funds accumulate, the Gatekeeper gets a printrun of passports. Each person who contributed the money receives a passport. Essentially the passport is electronic, however, there is something amusing about having a piece of paper.

4. People attempt to use the passport when leaving and entering their country, and as a proof of identity. The passport simply states that they are asserting their identity as a human being on the planet Earth. They promise to abide to simple human rights, comply with local laws, and so on.

5. Eventually, with enough people taking part, the money accumulated may be put to good use, helping out members of virtual nowhere who seem to be in trouble.

6. All getting a bit vague now, but presumably someone might want to take the network into the UN, and file for some kind of national entity status. Amusing to think. The only way this might turn into a practicality is if members have exercised their collective power and finances to make nations attentive.

I suspect all actuators would like to take part in this experiment. It is important to keep in mind, virtual nowhere is not a company, nor a charity, but a completely trustworthy network of individuals. There are no representatives of the organisation, only examples. The trust resides in individuals. It is an experiment in the influence of power. Those who prove themselves, are ultimately rewarded with more and more trust, of financial responsibility, and perhaps power. How all that is monitored needs to evolve and personal contact will be essential.
